Black Friday Falters as Consumer Behaviors Change
In 1939 a new event was created by Franklin D. Roosevelt that consisted on the last days of November, giving costumers some sales and discounts a few days before Christmas. What we call now Black fridayin those days was known as sales rush. The day became an annual ritual and a family affair, an event that delivered big profits for retailers, as well as a lift to the entire economy.
Seven decades later, Black Friday has lost its distinctive edge. Millions of Americans will still going to the shopping center this Friday, but it is not like it was because now, shops are used
to have more discounts frequently.
Some other things have changed over the years such as in other countries this event is done too but not only during one day, can it be extended for three years. Now the spirit is different regarding some years ago, now people use that day to have the opportunity or may an excuse to buy clothes and jewelries and now are more about consumerism. Another reason to answer why the comumerism on black Friday days has increased it’s because people take advantage of to buy presents for the 6th of January.
